Maltodextrins + corn syrup solids
MALTRIN® maltodextrins and corn syrup solids are part of the moisture management approach used in the formulation and production of processed meat and poultry products. Their lower degree of sweetness and minimum contribution to browning, aids in maximizing nonmeat ingredient levels. This results in improved processing yields, juiciness and reduced package purge.

Starches
PURE-GEL® modified food starches are being used extensively in a variety of further processed meat, poultry and seafood products to absorb and bind significant amounts of water in order to maintain yield and prevent water loss in the package during storage. This family of starches also provides temperature and freeze-thaw stability to processed meat products. Other PURE modified food starches can be used depending upon processing conditions and desired texture.

PURE-COTE® modified food starches can be used in meat coatings, incorporated dry as part of the seasoning mix or as a liquid spray, dip or falling curtain. The edible coating serves to adhere particulates, seasoning, caramel color and flavors.
