Maltodextrins + corn syrup solids
Facial masks and cleansers need a good film former that is mild and nonirritating. MALTRIN® maltodextrins are an excellent choice for these products. They are great film formers, mild and do not require heat for processing. MALTRIN® maltodextrins are low viscosity polymers that help build solids and create a short, smooth texture.
Organic rice maltodextrins + rice syrup solids
MALTRIN OR™ maltodextrins and rice syrup solids are good film formers, so they work nicely in organic mask and cleanser formulations. They are mild, cold water soluble and easy to work with in these applications.
Starches
Zeina® modified starch is ideal for cleansers and masks where a film-forming ingredient is key to the success of the formula. This polymer is easy to work with and requires no heat to hydrate. Therefore, it can be used in liquid or powder formulations. The low viscosity of this starch allows the formulation to have higher percent solids for faster drying time. If higher viscosity is desired, PURE-GEL® modified starches are the answer. They act as a thickener and film-former in one. Both starches are mild and offer stability to the product.
