Maltodextrins + corn syrup solids
MALTRIN® maltodextrins provide unique functional properties to quick dissolve delivery films. In the films, they increase solids without greatly increasing viscosity, allowing for faster drying times. Their adhesive properties aid in adhering the films to wet skin. They also give the formulator flexibility when using maltodextrins with other polymers to achieve desired release properties.
Starches
Zeina® modified starch is the product of choice for developing films that deliver active ingredients for skin or oral delivery. This cold water-soluble polymer forms clear, soluble films that readily adhere to moistened skin. If the application is oral, this starch film dissolves quickly releasing the flavor or active rapidly. PURE-GEL® modified starches can be used to control the dissolution rate of the film.
