Maltodextrins + corn syrup solids
In fluid-bed granulation, high-shear granulation or continuous granulation, MALTRIN® maltodextrins are excellent binders and carriers. They are especially effective in chewable formulas where they are not only binders, but can smooth out the mouthfeel and flavor of gritty or bitter active ingredients. They are ideal for children's products. The cold-water solubility and low viscosity make them easy to use in production.
Starches
GPC starches can be used in any granulation process, including fluid-bed granulation, high-shear granulation or continuous granulation. Spress® pregelatinized starches allow versatility in making low viscosity, high concentration binding solutions that are easily pumped or sprayed. They also allow for cold-water granulation where the starch is blended with the active ingredient and only water is used as the binding solution. PURE-DENT® low viscosity starches allow increased binding solution concentration with a cost-effective binder.
Fibers
TruBran® corn bran is easily granulated in fluid-bed granulation, high-shear granulation or continuous granulation to provide a flowable granular fiber for tablets, capsules or dry blends. GPC's carbohydrates, including maltodextrins and starches, are effective binders for use in these fiber granulations.
