Maltodextrins + corn syrup solids
Used as binders, carriers or diluents, MALTRIN® and MALTRIN QD® maltodextrins and corn syrup solids can regulate sweetness and mouthfeel of direct compression tablet formulations. They improve the hardness of the tablet, reduce friability and alleviate capping problems. The choices in bulk density, particle size and dextrose equivalence allow the formulator to fit the MALTRIN® product to the formulation.

Starches
Spress® pregelatinized starches NF are free-flowing, white, low dust starches used as binders, carriers, diluents and disintegrants in direct compression tablets. The basic PURE-DENT® natural and white tableting starches have been used in tableting for many years. More recently, highly absorbent PURE-DENT® starches enhance disintegration/dissolution properties as well as carry oils and aqueous ingredients into tablets.

Fibers
As a fiber source in tablets, either alone or after granulation with other ingredients, TruBran® corn bran is an excellent choice. The light color of this ingredient gives the tablet a natural appearance.
