AMES, Iowa (February 8, 2024) – Seven student teams from Iowa State University’s Food Science and Human Nutrition Department recently competed in the 8th annual ‘One-Day Ingredient Challenge’, organized by Grain Processing Corporation (GPC).
Teams were tasked with showcasing their product development skills by incorporating two GPC ingredients into a creative snack to add nutritional value or function. Judging criteria included ingredient use, presentation, creativity, and responses to questions.
This hands-on experience offered the twenty-two student participants real-world industrial ingredient exposure as well as networking opportunities with GPC professionals.
