Savory BBQ Granola Bar

In this plant-protein packed bar, MALTRIN SS™ dried glucose syrup provides excellent texture and binds together the nuts, oats, seeds and other nutritious ingredients. Meanwhile INSCOSITY® modified starch adds softness to the bar. Together these ingredients improve moisture retention in the granola bar throughout shelf life.

Let’s get technical

MALTRIN SS™ V204 dried glucose syrup is a unique product in that its DE (Dextrose Equivalent) is slightly above 20, but it behaves functionally much like a MALTRIN® product with approximately 15 DE. This is due in part to its unique carbohydrate polymer profile. When using MALTRIN SS™ for binding, it doesn’t add color, which allows ingredients, such as nuts, seeds and grains to remain visible and identifiable, providing consumers with aesthetic appeal.

Hazelnut Toffee Plant-Based Meal Replacement Drink

In this dry mix beverage, MALTRIN SS™ dried glucose syrup has reduced sugars (DP1/DP2) compared to corn and tapioca syrup solids products of similar DE. It builds solids for enhanced mouthfeel and contributes minimal sweetness with a neutral flavor. MALTRIN QD® M440 is a quickly dispersing maltodextrin that creates a creamy mouthfeel. Agglomerated ingredients dissolve easier and more quickly, resulting in a more satisfying drinking experience.


MALTRIN QD® maltodextrins are produced by an agglomeration process that increases particle size and lowers bulk density.

Let’s get technical

Despite having the same DE as other 20 DE sweeteners, MALTRIN SS™ V204 possesses fewer DP2 sugars (maltose) per 100g. It contains 4g of DP2 sugars compared to 9g in a product with the same DE. This is relevant because even though they have the same Total Carbohydrate content, MALTRIN SS™ V204 contains fewer total sugars at 6g compared to 11g.
